Nancy Childers honors her son, Lance Cpl. Cody Childers in a ceremony with 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, March 3, 2022. Childers was killed in action on August 20, 2010, while serving in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. 2/6 named their command deck conference room the “Cody Childers” room for his spirit which embodies what it means to be a 2/6 Spartan.
