210407-M-JX780-1161 BAY OF BENGAL (April 7, 2021) – A Marine Corps AH-1Z Viper assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 (Reinforced), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, flies over the French Navy ship, FS Tonnerre (L9014), as it maneuvers through the Bay of Bengal during La Perouse 2021. La Perouse is an exercise during the annual French Navy midshipman deployment called Mission Jeanne d'Arc. The exercise is designed to conduct training, enhance cooperation in maritime surveillance, maritime interdiction operations, and air operations.
