Immerath is a rural village in Germany and since 1972 a suburb of Erkelenz in the district of Heinsberg in Northrhine Westphalia. The village is now part of the the lignite mine Garzweiler of RWE Power and will vanish from the maps in 2017 for the ever expanding lignite mine.
