Recently Cyclone Remal divested their houses and belongings. Cyclone Remal, which originated in the Bay of Bengal, struck the southern coastal districts of Bangladesh on the night of Sunday, May 26th. The cyclone brought with it devastating wind speeds of 90 to 120 km/h, resulting in extensive flooding and destruction. The Sundarbans, a critical natural barrier and UNESCO World Heritage site, bore the brunt of the cyclone's impact. Floodwaters surged three to four feet above normal, submerging vast areas and causing significant damage to wildlife and infrastructure, including the Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Center and numerous patrol posts. In the coastal districts of Bagerhat, Satkhira, Khulna, Patuakhali, and Barguna, thousands of homes were destroyed, leaving around 50,000 families waterlogged and without electricity. The humanitarian crisis is compounded by environmental concerns, such as the loss of wildlife and the disruption of freshwater sources.
