Endotracheal ether vaporizer, 1938. Vaporizers convert liquid anaesthetics into gaseous form, and deliver them at the right concentrations for anesthesia. This apparatus was designed to administer ether vapour via an endotracheal tube, a tube passing into the windpipe. It was designed specifically for the Australian Army. A round metal tray contains the ether apparatus, consisting of an ether sight glass indicator, oxygen bypass, control tap and trap bottle.
