Chinese community members light fire crackers on street during the New year New Year is the most important and popular festival in Chinese culture. According to Lunar calendar 25th January is celebrated as Chinese New year instead of 1st January. On this day they perform Dragon dance, Lion dance etc as it is believed to bring good luck for the New Year. The Chinese population in Kolkata is mainly concentrated in two regions one Terrify market and another Tangra. Each and every year they make many colourful processions on street to celebrate Chinese New Year.
