Cornelis recaptured a kofschip taken by the French on July 31, 1794 on which he had served as a sailor. After Cornelis had returned the ship, he was rewarded by Admiraal van Kinsbergen with a silver tobacco box. Under the image a six -line caption regarding his heroic act.
