Alessandro Achillini (1463-1512). 16th Century portrait of the Italian philosopher and physician Alessandro Achillini, from his publication 'Opera omnia' (1568). Achillini was a celebrated lecturer of both medicine and philosophy at Bologna and Padua, Italy, and was thought of as the second Aristotle. He was also a distinguished anatomist.
