After Hurricane Rita in Texas and Louisiana, American Electric Power (AEP) dispatched 918 emergency personnel from 11 US states.
AEP helped restore service to 12 counties or Parishes in the two imperiled states. In Vidor Texas, an AEP line crew member grounds hot fully energized high voltage distribution lines in order to safely make emergency repairs.
