II SPECIALTIES AND NOVELTIES. Corn, Crosby's Early Sweet. This variety is unquestionably the very best of all the early sorts of sweet corn, and in several respects, and for many purposes, it is, all points considered, the very best to grow for a main crop. It is very dwarf (about four feet), with numerous large ears (twelve to six- teen rowed), set very low on the stocks, and, as it matures so early, second crops of many sorts can be obtained from the land. This is the variety almost exclusively used by the large grotvei s of sweet corn, in Maine and elsewhere, for canning purposes. Its table qualities are unsurpassed. No head- quarter's stock of Crosby Corn is for sale except by us. For twelve consecutive seasons we have made contracts for the entire stock of this variety of sweet corn, grown on the estate of the origina- tor, Josiah Crosby, Esq. Leading seedsmen all over the country annually send to us for stock to grow from. Shelled, per packet, .10; per quart, .25; per peck, $ Corn, Fottler's Early Sweet. This variety, now offered for the first time, is much larger than the Early Crosby, and is as early as that famous sort. The stalk's grow somewhat taller, ears are twelve round, with large, sweet, tender kernels. Quality equal to any. In a test made the past season between this variety and the Early Crosby, both being planted at the same time, it was found that corn, ready for the market, could be picked from both sorts on the same day.
