Spring and Summer Distribution (Site Tenacity) Of birds banded in Ontario and Quebec, there were 19 recoveries of adults during April through August, 1942-1986 (Figure 4). Thirteen recoveries in Ontario and Quebec were of birds recovered in the same province where they had been banded as chicks. Two recoveries occurred in the same 10' banding block. Six recoveries were within 20 km of the original banding location (including the two within the same banding block) while 12 occurred from 90 to 800 km (x = 190 km) of the banding location.
