BRANDT (deceased) was formany years a leading resident of Susquehanna coun-ty, and a number of prosperous business enterprisesof that locality owe their success to his foresight andenergy. He accumulated a large fortune, of whichhe gave liberally to many worthy projects, and hewas the founder and one of the chief supporters oftwo Presbyterian Churches, one at Brandt and theother at Susquehanna city. His death, which oc-curred July 8, 1886, was sincerely mourned in thecommunity where his sterling qualities of mind andheart were best known.
