Salvage operators prepare the Phoenix for towing off the rocks, Sheffield Beach, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.


The 164-metre bulk tanker, Phoenix, being towed to wrecking yards in India ran aground at Sheffield Beach in the middle of a torrential storm that hit the North Coast, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa on July 25 2011. All fifteen crew were airlifted to safety.
