CATALOGUE OF AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENTS. '63 Ross Ensilage and Fodder Cutters. For 50 years the Ensilage and Fodder Cutters built by the E. W. Ross Co., of Springfield, Ohio, have stood ahead of all others for effectiveness, durability and quality. Many improvements have been made, and at the present time there does not seem to be a great deal of room for further improvement. They are built in all sizes, from the small hand machine to the immense machines requiring 10 to 15 horse power to run them, and having a capacity of 35 tons of ensilage per hour. The silo is beyond the experimental stage, and is recognized to-day as the best investment in reach of the farmer. It has been demonstrated that it will yield larger dividends and pay for itself Ha quicker than almost any other practical aid to successful farming. A silo will increase by 20 per cent, yearly the profit on each milch cow wintered. It will store 4,000 pounds of net food in silage in the same space that would be required for i,Soo pounds in hay 01 corn fodder. Silage is cheaper to prepare; cheaper to store and insure than hay or corn fodder, and it is without question the best dairy food known. You know that the nearer the nature of the winter's feed to the cow approaches that given in the summer, the nearer will the winter's flow of milk equal that obtained in the summer.
