This image is part of a project to record Middlesbroughs last season at Ayresome Park, 1994-95. After the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, the Taylor Report recommended that all grounds in the top two English divisions become all seater. When Middlesbrough announced that they would move from Ayresome Park to the all seater Riverside Stadium in August 1995, I began a project to record the last season at Ayresome Park. The photographs also reflect the events of the season. 1994-95 was Bryan Robsons first season as Middlesbrough player manager, the club won the First Division, and was promoted back to the Premier League. In hindsight these photographs also record football as it had been for 100 years, but is no longer. See also
