ShiGe that period Dr. Hofmeister has continuedhis valuable researches, and the results of his observationshave been published in the 4th and 5th volumes of theTransactions of the Royal Academy of Saxony, in theReports of the same Academy for the year 1854, and inthe Regensburg Flora for the same year. In additionto the matter relating to the Cryptogamia, the originaltreatise also contained some remarks on the fructificationof the Coniferee, and on the analogies between the sexualphenomena in mosses and vascular cryptogams on the oneside, and the conifers on the other. Dr. Hofmeisterhas since published further observations upon this lattersubject
