Parnidis Dune near Nida in Curonian Spit National Park Baltic coast of Lithuania

The Curonian Spit is a very narrow piece of land separating the Baltic Sea from a lagoon, and which falls partly in Lithuania and partly in the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. The Lithuanian section is protected in the Curonian Spit National Park, at the southern end of which - near the town of Nida - is a huge dune, the Parnidis Dune, that dominates the landscape. This image shows just a small part of that dune.
