This heater is illustrated herewith. Atten-tion is directed to the glazed porcelain support of theventilated type, which is designed to furnish ventila-tion without weakening the porcelain, either mechani-cally or in its insulating properties. It also ventilatesthe coil uniformly. The coil is supported on two ridgesfor its entire length and does not rest down in the. The highly-glazedfine-quality porcelain permits of the heater to stay cleanlonger than does unglazed porcelain. The double-backconstruction, a feature of Consolidated heaters, is wellshown at the top in the illustration, as is also the junc-tion space at the ends of the heater. The end cap isof metal to prevent warping and is lined with fiber toprevent grounds and short-circuits. The heater is ex-tremely light, the metal parts being made entirely ofpressed steel. The coils are of Consolidated Nokorowire, which is a non-corrosive alloy of uniform re-sistance. The heater is a logical development of the oldConsolidated features, which have so successfully stoodthe test of traction operation for many years.
