"Farmers have the knowledge. This makes us question why farm accidents are still happening, especially with the frequency experienced in Alberta last ; There were 11 farm related fatalities in 1996. On average, two farm accidents were treated in Alberta hospitals each and every day. These numbers are a significant increase from the 11 fatalities reported in 1995 statistics. "The number of injuries requiring medical attention, not to mention the injuries that resulted in death, are simply ; says Kyeremanteng.'Tn no other industry would this accident occurrence rale be ; The wet. cold weather experienced last year may have had a direct affect on the number of farm accidents, but that shouldn't be an excuse.
