This limestone is very similar in appearance to thecarbouate of lime and magnesia found elsewhere. The above specimen was pickedup among the-mountains of Galilee. (Page 294, also see illustration opposite page288.) It is apparently A. Syriacus, with a Nerinea Syriaca turretted shell on the sideand a Natica Syr. or Turritella Syr. on the end. Flint, Deut. viii. 15: xxxii. 13: Psa. cxiv. 8: Isa. 1. 7 : Job xxviii. 9,translated also rock. The rocks of Sinai, to which in Deut. viii.,the word is applied, are granite, porphyry and green-stone, andsuch rocks
