Hedeals in real estate, and has the repu-tation of a careful, shrewd and safe M. H. Young. Mr. Young has also been an activefactor in building up the city, havingbuilt over 100 houses since cominghere in 1890. He has built several finebusiness blocks and effected the BeaconHill improvement. In company withR. R. Spencer, cashier of the NationalBank of Commerce, Mr. Young has re-cently entered the import trade, bring-ing to this country the products ofJapan and China. Mr. Young was born at Graton, Mass.,in 1846. He enlisted with the Unionforces in 1863 and served throughoutthe rest of the war. From 1870 to 1872he was connected with the C, B. & , and from then till 1890 hewas cashier of the Boston Manufactur-ing Company, residing at Waltham dur-ing the time. He was one of the or-ganizers of the Waltham Electric Com-pany, and when that company con-solidated with the Waltham Gas Com-pany he was a director in the new or-ganization and was the first secretaryand treasurer of the Waltham Co-operative Bank.
