The Royal Navy during the Second World War The wounded pilot of a Chance-Vought Corsair hit by flak, Sub Lieutenant P A Swift, of Uxbridge, has his head dressed by a Sick Berth Attendant (SBA) in the sick bay on board ship after landing on the aircraft carrier HMS VICTORIOUS. He was involved in an attack by aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm that wiped out a German convoy north east of Stadlandet, off the Norwegian coast.
