Vertex usually obtusely angled or roundingly produced, the anterior margin often angled, drawn out to a fine edge or fre- quently almost rounding to front. Elytra inscribed with ramose brown pigment lines, usually rather uniform, but when unevenly marked not forming saddle areas along suture. A number of large species belong to this genus. The entire group feed on grass or herbaceous plants, and a number are.
