Steam engine and boxcars from the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.


The D&SNG is a narrow gauge heritage railroad that operates on 45 miles of track between Durango and Silverton, Colorado. It dates back to 1881 and was used to carry people and supplies from mines in the San Juan Mountains. It was built as an extension of the D7RG line . The D&SNG has operated continuously since 1881 and is one of the few places in the US that has seen continuous use of steam locomotives.
