Said to occur in the dense forest on tlie east side of Shasta, whence skins are brought to Sisson for sale nearly ever}'winter. V. H. Ivirly in Angust tliree were caught in Mud Creek Canyon, near the mouth of Clear Creek, in traps set in Aplddoiitid runways.
