Old upturned Keel Boats now used for storage on the Island of Lindisfarne off of the Northumbrian coast in the north of England.
These traditional sheds on the Island of Lindisfarne (Northumbria) are the cut intwo remains of old keel boats. The boats were originally part of a thriving herring fishing fleet. The boats were traditional to the area and were used to drift net for herring. The boats has an average life of 30-35 years after which time they were cut in two, upturned and used as storage sheds.
