A German Gothic leather casket for a missal, mid-15th century, The rectangular casket made of oak, the outside entirely covered in finely punched leather decorated with ornamental banners amid leafy vines with thorns. Inscribed "got helf" on the sides, with banners reading "Keusch vor auch treu" across the lid. Finely worked fittings in blackened iron, the extension bar of one hinge strap is missing.
