A pair of flintlock pistols, signed "Zugno", Brescia, circa 1730. The octagonal barrels are inlaid with florally engraved brass strips (minor flaws), then merge to round after a baluster and are slightly swamped at the muzzle. Smooth bores in 15 mm calibre. The flintlocks are inlaid en suite in brass. The floral engraving is worn. Bevelled lock edges with the signature "Zugno" on the underside. Walnut burl wood stocks (a repaired break in one butt). The brass furniture is richly engraved with acanthus and floral decoration as well as antique style medallions. W,
