The view across the rooftops from the top of the castle mound of Fotheringhay castle with the lantern tower of the impressive Collegiate church of All Saints rising above the trees in the background. Fotheringhay castle was the birthplace of King Richard III and was also where Mary, Queen of Scots was tried and executed. Fotheringhay lies the Nene Valley near Oundle in east Northamptonshire.
