Photo essay from laboratory. Determination of blood group ABO on plate (ABO grouping) and cartridge of red cell antibodies. Cartridge of red cell antibodies research : human antiglobulin test (AHG). This test, also named Coombs test, enables to research the presence of red cell antibodies (RAI). Red cell antibodies (or hemolysins) are antibodies present in certains individuals, directed again antigens of foreign red corpuscles ; they have developped following a transfusion or a pregnancy with foeto-maternal incompatibility. Their presence must be determined before a transfusion or a second pregnancy to avoid hemolytic accidents.
