Marsh hawk and reed bird. 18th-century artwork of a marsh hawk (Circus cyaneus) and a reed bird (Dolichonyx oryzivorus) from Pennsylvania, USA. The marsh hawk is a bird-of-prey that is also called the hen harrier or northern harrier. The reed bird (upper left) is a small New World blackbird, also called the bobolink. This 1758 hand-coloured engraving is by British naturalist George Edwards (1694-1773).
