Like much of the North, Lancashire is in Tier 3, so today's dishes were things that you could pass off as a 'substantial meal' if consumed in a pub. The Lancashire Egg, made with black pudding and turkey with a salad and cranverries to make it legal and festive. The Ultimate get around restrictions dish- if a pie by itself is not substantial without a side dish, but fish and chips are- why not make three tier mushy pea, fish and chip pie to get round the restrictions. Retreat has found themselves with all there restaurants closed, 2 closed under the Greater Manchester restrictions (whilst the one near Chorley opened, but local pubs had bouncers barring anyone from Greater Manchester), opened in full for eat out to help out, then locked down. They have added outdoor dining pods, but are currently offering takeaway only, awaiting to see if they will be in Tier Two, and able to offer their regional delicacies.
