A Styrian basket-hilted sword, circa 1580 Sturdy, straight single-edged blade with a double-edged point and triple fullers on both sides. The obverse side struck with a mark in the shape of the Gothic majuscule "M". Blackened iron basket hilt with closed guard plates and thumb ring on both sides. S-shaped, curved quillons with large cut finials. Basket with curved guard bars shaped like loops. Original grip with leather cover (minor worm damage, the leather showing defects in places).
