Back of the medieval Church of Santo Stefano and beautiful palaces overlooking Via XX Settembre in the centre of Genoa, Liguria, Italy

The Church of Santo Stefano was founded in the Middle Ages as part of an abbey, in the place where previously was located a 6th-century small church. The most ancient document mentioning Santo Stefano dates from 965 and the parish territory included the houses of Cristopher Columbus who, according to the tradition, would be baptized here.
