The ground should be well manured with fine, well-rotted or compostedmanure, and be thoroughly worked quite deep. Sow from middle of April to middle of May, in rows 14 inches apart, and thinthe plants to 5 or 6 inches in the row. For late crops sow in June or July. An important point is to tread the rows firmlyafter sowing. For field culture, Carrots should be sown in drills 3 to SMj feet apart, so as to cultivate with OXHEABT OB GUEBANDE.
