Mouse robot. This bio-inspired robot, designed by the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa, Italy, and Waser University, Tokyo, Japan, was based on the house mouse (Mus musculus). It is part of a research project to study mouse behaviour and learning systems by placing among them animal robots that could function as both observers and teachers. In this way the information provided to the mice and their acquisition of new behaviours could be directed and controlled by the researchers.
