An early 20th century overview of St Stephen's Green, aka Stephen's Green, a garden square and public park located in the city centre of Dublin, Ireland designed by William Sheppard. At 22 acres, it is the largest of Dublin's main Georgian garden squares. Others include nearby Merrion Square and Fitzwilliam Square. Access to the Green was restricted to local residents, until 1877, when Parliament passed an Act to reopen St Stephen's Green to the public, at the initiative of Sir Guinness, a member of the Guinness brewing family.

In the interests of transparency (no pun intended) this Photo Chrome image was shot around 1900. The original image has been cleaned, sharpened and enhanced. The sky was bleached out so a new sky has been introduced.
