Mark one railway carriage with 'Royal Scot' boards

British Railways Mark 1 was the family designation for the first standardised designs of railway carriages built by British Railways between 1951 and 1963. .Although withdrawn from the British railway network from 2010, a small number of companies have waivers to operate Mark 1 carriage stock on railtour duties. As the vehicles lack central locking a bolt has been added to each door (seen on the top left hand corner of the door in the picture) and a steward is required to be present in each vehicle during use on special charter duties.
