Historical Old Town, Sisak
Sisak, Sissek, the mediaeval Croatian settlement. In the middle of 16th century the fort Stari Grad was built for protection against the Turks. In the famous battle on 22nd June 1593 the Christian army under the command of Croatian Ban Toma Bakac defeated the more numerous Turkish enemy.
