Both should beemployed, the former for the determination of the presence of an injuryand for the purpose of centering the tube under the injured part. In regardto diagnosis by screening only, a few words of caution are necessary. Whilein a number of gross lesions with a degree of displacement and dislocationsit is possible to make a positive diagnosis at once, it must be pointed outthat a negative diagnosis of injury to bone should never be made on thescreen examination alone.
