The photograph shows the 315th Mobile Vet. Section of the 80th Division on the march during World War One. The worn-out horses, affected by the flu due to exposure, were previously used by the 315th Field Artillery of the 80th Division. A mobile picket line was used to tie the sick horses to a rope, where the lead horse, which is healthy, pulled the line with force. Taken in Nixeville, France on September 28, 1918.
