Up the Chil-ean coast the steamer made a stop at Lota forcoal, and less than a month after leaving thestraits the steamer arrived at Panama. MissWilcox and her party made the trip from Pan-ama to Aspinwall or Colon, going via the cruderailway in operation there, a line forty-sevenmiles in length, the journey occupying fourhours. The party spent the night at Colon,where they were entertained by listening to thebreakers in the Caribbean sea. Returning toPanama the party boarded the steamer boundfor San Francisco without other stops. Thesteamer went into the harbor of the GoldenGate city in the early part of March. There.
