On the other hand, all that relatesto medical and surgical teaching—the great 182 LONDON hospitals, medical museums, and laboratories,are wide open in London and you have butto walk in and help yourself. London is sobig that you can scarcely list the more im-portant institutions, much less go into detailconcerning them. There are over twenty-five free hospitals of considerable size, whereyou can get instruction. The principal hos-. pitals, with medical schools attached, are asfollows—I hope the information is have never been to any of them. I was toobusy trying to explain to a tailor, to whomI was foolish enough to give an order, howan American desired his clothes to fit:— St. Bartholomews is on the edge of theCity, and easily reached from all parts ofLondon. The hospital contains 744 library and the physical science and 183 MEDICAL EUROPE bacteriological laboratories have, now, at theirside, a very large building which includesclub-rooms for the Students Union, a writing-room, and luncheon and dining halls. Charing Cross is situated in the very centreof London, and gives instruction in all sub-jects of the medical and dental Hospital, with its Convalescent Homeat Limpsfield, contains 287 beds.
