Its presbyterianministers—commencing with Hally, who served itfor half-a-century, and figured in the revival scenesof Cambuslang—have been men remarkable for pas-toral worth and personal piety. Barclay, the foun-der of the sect of Bereans, was a native of the par-ish. In 1834, the parochial school was attended by99 scholars, and eight private schools by 350.
