Henry VIII., was a cent, later partlyrebuilt and added to by materials from churchof St. Etheldreda, Histon, which Sir FrancisHinde sacrilegiously demolished. The presentMadingley font was actually brought from theHall not many years since, displacing a modernfont. It has been claimed that the churchyardwas the scene of Grays famous Elegy:\ Manea.—St. Nicholas (erected on site ofold church), opened 1875. Formerly a parochialchapelry, now an ecclesiastical parish in the midstof the Ely fens. Chancel, nave, N. transept, , vestry, and turret over chancel arch withone bell.
