I feed the babies lettuce andbread soaked in sweet milk for a fewdays and let them run with the hen onthe lawn. As grass is their naturalfood one system is as good as the otherfor growing geese, but the ones raisedby hand are easier to handle because oftheir tameness. They will follow youlike a dog, but if you give them a chance,while young, they will also followstrangers and be lost. I have never attempted to feed for eggproduction. The geese eat with thechickens whatever I happen to feed they start laying while the weather isyet cold, as they often do, I remove theeggs from the nest but substitute oldspoiled ones until the goose is ready toset.
