The music of Patience sings itself and the jokes make their ownpoints, but it is due to the artistic insight of the actors, to their sym-pathetic entrance into the spirit of the thing, that we had given us anunreality that is more charming than any reality, a perfect illusion ofromance. To be parted from it plunged me into the depth of Mondays I would watch its progress through soapy and clear water,out to the line in the sunshine, where I saw it shake its ruffles and wavelong caressing arms at a plump, dignified pollowcase.
