B.,from the University of Vermont in 1844. He was ordained deacon of the Protestant Episcopal Church in 1850; andwas rector of the following churches: Greenville, Tenn., 1847-50; Nashville,Tenn., 1850-52; Norwich, Vt., 1852-53. He was professor of the Ancient andModern History and Belles-Lettres, at N.
