Thereare actually instances in lower Manhattan where thelower floors of some skyscrapers are unrentable asoffice space and are rented for storage purposes onaccount of the insufficient light and air they is due to the building itself, which has not onlyrobbed its neighboring properties of their share oflight, but has robbed itself of its own share of reflect-ed light. The same applies to access of air for ventil-ation. Had such buildings been constructed withregard to these features a much less height wouldhave been found to produce equal results.
