07/10/13 It was here at 3 (now 33) Synge Street, Dublin that George Bernard Shaw was born on the 26th July 1856 and lived until 1876 when he moved to London. The home of the renowned playwright has been restored to its Victorian elegance and charm. It is currently closed to the public but was opened especially for the Mail Plus. It is here that Shaw began to imagine the characters for his literary works. George Bernard Shaw was the only person to have been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature and an Oscar for his work on the film Pygmalion, a TV adaptation of his celebrated work.
